Nepal-Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry is under new leadership.

Mrs. Shova Gyawali, a Nepali born, formerly Senior Vice President of NPCCI and holder of several important posts and associations in Nepal became the chamber’s newest President. She was followed by Mr. Kushan Pradhan, Mrs. Eva Nancy Thapa, Mrs. Luzviminda Paluyo-Thapa, Ms. Shila Mao Minto and Mr. Samir Ojha as Senior Vice President, Junior Vice President, Secretary General, Joint Secretary and Treasurer respectively.  Along with the new sets of officers, seven new Board Members were elected namely, Mesdames Janaki Gurung, Saru Aryal, Rama Kandel, Shirley Sitaula and Marivic Alonzo Gurung.  Messrs Rabindra Dahal and Suav Juwa were also in the board.

Advocate Ananta Raj Luitel, who represented as NPCCI Election Commissioner facilitated and monitored the electoral process had proclaimed victors name one by one.  New sets of Officers and Board of Directors will serve for two-year term effective as of today August 18, 2019 and running through 2021.

Following the election was oathtaking ceremony which was conducted and administered by Advocate Luitel and Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines in Nepal Mr. Suraj Vaidhya who stands as NPCCI Patron and Chief Guest. NPCCI’s pioneers, Mrs. Blessie Gadon Dhakal, Immediate Past President and Mrs. Rosalina Budhatoki Founding President assisted in the awarding of the certificates and tokens.

The new leadership-led by Gyawali were on pro-business programs, creation of jobs, economic growth and cultural development and will strive to inspire more membership that would support and strengthen chamber’s mission and vision.

NPCCI’s executive committee election was held at Philippine Consulate General’s Office in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu, Nepal.
